- Peter was asphyxiated at the end of the show when the drum riser got stuck up by the ceiling. He ended up in the Vincent Charity Hospital.
- Nights Out At The Agora was a project between the Agora and local radio stations, in Cleveland's case, WMMR, that recorded live sets from artists and offered those shows to partner radio stations for broadcast. "If a radio station wants to put on the hour, we send the tapes weekly and the station makes a commitment giving the show a certain amount of promos... plus they give the network three spots in the body of the show which the network can either use or sell. The station benefits because they keep three spots. And in Cleveland it's WMMR jocks that emcee our shows. And we tend to advertise on the stations that are running our shows" (Radio Report, 11/23/78) This operation eventually developed into "On Stage at the Agora," a local TV broadcast simulcast on radio. This KISS show was booked under the auspices of "Nights Out at the Agora" so may have been recorded since mostly new acts were featured early on (the show ran 1974-84). - This show circulates as a SBD. -kissmonster.com (More...)

Notes: "bastardized" from flaq (which are included in the download by the way) to mp3 for you mp3 devotees, and to the chagrin of the purists (we'll call them ;) ).
Raunchy as all hell, I mean seriously raunchy, but as I keep saying, get some EQ'ing and it becomes an interesting piece of KISStory! They perform six songs from their first album, two new ones (Parasite and Let Me Go Rock 'n' Roll), and the as yet to be released She (which will come on the next studio album Dressed to Kill). The band get a great reception and after Black Diamond the crowd goes into a "we want more" chant and clap frenzy!
The opening band Fludd was a Canadian rock band best known for their 1973 hit "Cousin Mary", three of whose members went on to form the band SAGA which had two big hits in the 1981 with "Wind Him Up" and "On the Loose". -Original

There are outtakes and there are outtakes, and then there are versions of songs that were for some reason left on the cutting room floor, while another version was chosen. All too often these adventures have been gathered up, remastered, packaged, and marketed to the diehard fans who are hungry for anything new ... even if it’s just an artist rambling on in the studio. For my mind, or ears, most of these are just a waste of time and money, but here on The Sotheby Auction Tapes, we’ve been treated to a significant gem.

The backstory goes something like this: Way back when, many years before most of you were even a sparkle in your parents eyes, Jimi Hendrix and his magical band The Experience laid down eight reels of tape, three five inch, and five seven inch. These reels were recorded at the famous Olympic Studios in 1967 and 1968 [before Jimi returned to America as the Psychedelic Flower Power Wonder], featuring Jimi on guitar, The Experience, often with Dave Mason on bass, and features Brian Jones on sitar. These tapes surfaced in 1981 as part of Sotheby's Auction, and were once the property of Kathy Etchingham, onetime girlfriend of Jimi. It seems that these jams and session mixes from Axis: Bold As Love, along with some BBC Sessions were deemed unworthy to be saved by Ms. Etchingham, and were thrown away, then removed from the trash and saved, or perhaps covertly spirited from her possession; we may never know the full truth. Regardless, they were sold along with Jimi’s hand written notes, and have been presented to us for due consideration ... and a worthy consideration they are. Just listen as a bluesy version of “Electric Ladyland” washes across your head, connect with a lengthy take of “Jazz Jimi Jazz”, then hear Brian Jones reach back across the years, laying out a haunting bit of sitar on “Little One,” or try your luck at returning from an instrumental version of “Spanish Castles” that will creep so deeply into your soul you’ll wonder why it was never released in two fashions to begin with. (From the first uploaders discription)
These tracks, also known as the Axis Outtakes, nearly never made it past Kathy Etchingham's dustbin. Luckily they were retrieved and ended up in an auction at Sotheby's in December 1981. Since then they have turned up in various guises on collectors lists and of course have been treated to the usual shabby mangling on various bootleg releases. This is the the best version from the masters on DAT. -Original

Magna Qualitas Records is proud to announce our newest release: A radical reworking of Pink Floyd's Delicate Sound of Thunder called Delicate Sound of Thunder: The Complete 1987-1988 Tour.

Delicate Sound of Thunder was a live album released in November 1988 highlighting the return of Pink Floyd after years without a tour. The last actual tour was the Animals tour in 1977 (The Wall tour only played 4 cities, and therefore wasn't really a tour per se). This tour with the newly reconstituted David Gilmour led Pink Floyd was very successful and it was inevitable that a live album and video were spawned by it. A8 - 10:15 Saturday Night
B-Side:

B4 - One Hundred Years

A1-A2 - John Peel 1979
A3-A8 - 1979-03-11 - Marquee Club, London, UK [1st. known recording]
B1-B4 - 1983-07-27 - Midnight Express, Bournemouth, UK

Some interesting versions. 'Desperate Journalist' is 'Grinding halt' with improvised lyrics, against a stupid review on their music.
It is a part of the first known recording of an early live show. Very good atmosphere and great live versions of old songs.
Unmentioned on the cover, track 3 also has 'Foxy Lady' after 'Object'. I have cut these tracks and called them 3A and 3B.

Side 2 is part of one of the 3 shows The Cure did in 1983.
After the split up in 1982, they took a break for almost a year.
Robert Smith started it up again with Laurence Tolhurst and Phil Tornally and Andy Anderson were added for live performances.

This recording is untouched, no clean-ups, no noise reduction, no cuts in pauzes between songs on the record, I wanted to keep close to the sensation of 'playing a record'. -INC (Original)

Cream - Psychedelic Circus (MVR 354)

Good Audience Recording

This is one show of Cream's that has never been done justice til now.
It's wandered around in bits and pieces in awful sound quality. The
friendly folks at Mid Valley have now gotten their hands on a complete
tape and applied that Mid Valley magic. The sound quality still isn't
great but is a vast improvement over every release I've ever heard.
