KISS performed in a sold-out Cow Palace (14,500 persons) in San Francisco.
- "Rock And Roll All Nite" was dedicated to Elvis, who had died that day.
- A great recording of this show circulates, though it's open to debated whether it's a SBD or a SBD-mix. Whatever, it's great!
- A local review: "It happened some years back with Grand Funk Railroad, too. After vowing never to subject my ears to musical trash at high volume again, I sat through two Grand Funk Railroad concerts (I'll do anything to see Traffic perform). The music was straight noise; dregs, and Grand Funk was destroyed by rock critics, but they became the heavy metal kings. Likewise, the teens of late have picked a band that plays in a class with Grand Funk as the most popular group in America (according to the Gallup Youth Survey). Last night's Cow Palace show (before a sold-out crowd of 14,500 Kiss Army recruits) was a real destroyer. The volume was so high that I may never hear again. The musicianship was so poor I shudder when I think about it. But then I'd be shuddering anyway; the Kiss show was akin to experiencing an earthquake and the neutron bomb simultaneously. -Original
